Pro-life center
Alpha Women’s Center is a pro-life pregnancy center with a heart for the woman suspecting that she might be pregnant. Our vision and mission are to glorify God as a Christ-centered resource for affirming the sanctity of human life from conception to the grave.
Service provision
Our Des Moines office is open 3 days each week, and our Ankeny location is open 2 days each week. In addition to the Executive Director, we have 4 part-time staff, and about a dozen trained volunteers.
Charity status
AWC is a duly organized non-profit corporation recognized by the State of Iowa and by the United States Internal Revenue Service as a not-for-profit educational service organization. Alpha is affiliated with Life Matters Worldwide of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Dependent on donors
Alpha receives no government funding-we are solely dependent on the generous support of our donors.
Community-driven
70% of our clients are referred to us by friends, family, or themselves. Alpha is where friends send friends!
Recent statistics were impacted by Covid. Numbers were down in both locations 25-30%
