-Volunteers-

Call either the Des Moines or Ankeny office and leave your name and address and we will send you information and an application. Go to our Contact us page for our details.

You must be an active member of a fundamental baptistic church and agree with our Statement of faith.

We are members of Life Matters Worldwide (formerly Baptists for Life) and they have a doctrinal statement. Also, we offer Bible studies and would expect everyone to have the same understanding of the Scriptures. We take the Bible literally as the Word of God. Find out more about our Spiritual beliefs.

Yes, we will ask your pastor and two other individuals for references. We have a form for them to complete.

The length of training time varies according to the amount of time the woman can spend at the Center. There is a training manual and a Policy and Procedures Manual to go through.

Some volunteers receive special training to help with clients directly (assisting with pregnancy tests, closet visits, or follow-up phone calls).  Other volunteers help us in a big way by sorting donations, working to keep our resource closet stocked and organized, or helping to keep the offices tidy.

No, the training is done on a one-to-one basis. After the references are received, we will have you start the training.

Yes, you are welcome to visit and see the setup. The Executive Director will schedule a time for you to come in.

We like a commitment of two times a month. Considering the time and effort it takes to fully train someone, a year’s commitment would also be great, but not required.

If you would like to volunteer, please submit an application in person or by email.
