I’ve seen two different extremes posted in social media about Valentine’s Day. One friend posted that it’s Valentine’s Month—her favorite month. Another posted a picture of a beverage called “Hater-Ade” for all the anti-valentine folks. I once heard a guy cynically refer to Valentine’s Day as “National Florist’s Day.”
Love it or hate it—Valentine’s Day is arriving soon. Whether or not you have a personal “valentine” (I do—married him 37 years ago), you surely have some things you love…things you are grateful for. I know I do…
My Savior: “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you by His poverty might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:9) Amazing love!
Family: How precious it is that the ones who know me best are the ones who love me most! At least, most of the time.
Church family: Special folks with whom I get to worship and grow as a believer in Christ. People who love me well enough to challenge me and correct me.
Home: The house where I get to serve my family and friends. I am safe here.
Job: I count it a great privilege to be the director of this awesome ministry!
New eyes: (see previous blog post October 9, 2020) With my glasses, I can now see 20/20. That has not been the case for many years.
How about you? Are there some things (or people) that you love? Have you told them recently? “Better is open rebuke than hidden love.” (Proverbs 27:5)
