Quarantine and Social Distancing
Well, I’ve never done a pandemic before–how about you?
In the midst of this craziness, what do you turn to for sanity? What things or activities help you cope? I think it helps to have a routine. It lends a sense of “normalcy” to life–and that’s a welcome thing right now!
I am still setting my alarm to get up early.
I am still taking the first part of my day to drink a cup of coffee while I read my Bible.
I am working to be more consistent about walking in the mornings and praying through my day and for my loved ones. I need the exercise — and the prayers!
I can still go to my office, because the office is currently closed to the public and I’m the only one there. No social distancing needed!
A friend posted on Facebook that it takes 28 days to create a habit (which is about the length of this quarantine). She said she was starting some new habits, and appreciated being “forced” to slow down. That’s a great perspective.
We’ve all been forced to slow down–Alpha, too. I pray that the slowing down will be a time of rest, and not anxiousness. The Lord is still on the throne, and He is still in control. Even in the midst of a pandemic. We can rest in that.
Alpha’s current plan is to re-open in both locations on Monday, April 6 — provided the “all clear” is given.
