We love to spend family vacation in Colorado. On our most recent trip, we did a 7-mile “moderate” hike—which took us 6 hours! Much of the hike followed next to a rushing mountain stream. We saw spacious meadows filled with wildflowers, butterflies, and hummingbirds. We lunched at a waterfall. It was almost magical!
Then my daughter lost her phone on the hike. We discovered it was missing after we got back in the car. No idea where it could be–we had just hiked 7 miles!
We drove back to the place where we were staying and sat down for supper. We prayed and asked God to give us wisdom for what to do about the phone–He knew where it was. I asked if He was willing, could the phone be found and returned?
Within a minute, my phone rang–my daughter’s phone was calling me. I answered and a Park Ranger asked me if I was missing a phone! Some hikers had found it and turned it in to the Rangers who were also on the trail.
And below is the post I had put on Alpha’s Facebook page just that morning:
“Never doubt the power of prayer, or whether God cares about what’s going on in your life!”
Psalm 17:6 “I am praying to You because I know You will answer, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray.” (NLT)
