While we’re waiting
I hate to wait…which is why it’s probably good for me! If something’s weak, you’re supposed to challenge it. I guess impatience is challenged by waiting, learning to endure. We’re just 14 days into this quarantine–if you remember from my last post, I said it takes 28 days to build a habit. I’m only half-way there.
In the book of Hebrews, the Bible says, “you have need of endurance…” Patience, cheerful perseverance, learning to wait well. “The characteristic of a person who is not swerved from his purpose by even the greatest trials and sufferings.” I could use some of that right now. You, too?
I had hoped to be able to re-open both Alpha locations on Monday, April 6. I had hoped we would be back to “business as usual.” But that is not what is going to happen. The authorities have extended the call for Social Distancing through the end of April.
We understand that, even though we wished for a different outcome. And we are not swerving from our purpose, even through these challenging circumstances. We’re currently working on a strategy to be open on a limited basis. Possibly fewer days per week, fewer hours per day, with appointments required. There are a lot of details that go into figuring out how to do this safely, in a way that is helpful to the community, and in compliance with current CDC guidelines.
Please stay turned, and be patient! We hope the wait is not much longer.
